    Gluten-free - 1000 grams

Flaxseed contains many healthy components and are especially high in Omega-3 essential fatty acids, "good" fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Each tablespoon of ground flax seed contains about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3s.

Flaxseeds also have lignans, an antioxidant quality; flax seed contains 75- 800 times more lignans than other plant foods. Flax seed also contains both the soluble and insoluble types fibers.

Usage Make flax crackers or add to salads and smoothies.

The warm and subtly nutty flavor of flaxseeds combined with an abundance of omega-3 fatty acids makes them popular with the health conscious consumer.

Grind them in a coffee grinder or blender to make flax meal, a wheat free, gluten free alternative to flour.

Storage Whole flax seed should be stored in a cool, dark, dry place. Many people choose to store it in the refrigerator or freezer to be on the safe side. Flax meal can be stored in the freezer and used up within a few weeks.
